You think you know what this book will be about but really…you don’t. You aren’t sure initially whether you like the main character, for she is very flawed. Honestly, she scared me at first.

This book is a bit dark, but it captures you just as any good mystery will. After you get past your initial unease (and don’t let it get to you – keep with the book), the story grabs you and holds on. You really cannot quite guess what will happen next, or how it will end.

Highly recommend.

Released today is the new CD from Clairy Browne & The Bangin’ Rackettes – Baby Caught the Bus.  You can stream it on Spotify!! I am listening to it as we speak, so I don’t know my favorite yet, though I’ve been listening to Love Letter for a month or more now, and it is one of those groovy type tunes like I love to hear. They definitely have that retro vibe going that I adore.

I Kill Me: Tales of A Jilted HypochondriacI Kill Me: Tales of A Jilted Hypochondriac by Tracy H. Tucker

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fun, light read (finished in an evening). There are some great one liners in this book, and I found myself laughing out loud several times. Yes, the whole “hypochondriac” thing does get a bit tiring at times, but sometimes you can’t help but smile. I’m sure we’ve all taken some minor cut or pain and turned it into a life threatening illness thanks to the internet.

Christine, the main character, is not always strong, she gets mad and yells, she cries at the drop of a hat…she’s a real person. She gets on your nerves one minute, but the next you find yourself identifying with her.

Great chick-lit!

Coming Home (Jackson Falls, #1)Coming Home by Laurie Breton

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As I said in my update, sometimes there are no words good enough to express how and in what ways a book touches you. This book, in a nutshell, is a great read and good piece of chick-lit. It is a tearjerker, so be warned.

I know we all get invested in characters and find it hard to let go of them, but these characters have stayed in my mind since I started reading it, even after finishing it. I think they will be staying with me awhile.

There are bits that I find hard to believe (lots of tragedy for one character) but still a great book, one that is definitely hard to put down without outright finishing.

Life, Love, and a Polar Bear TattooLife, Love, and a Polar Bear Tattoo by Heather Wardell

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. I really empathize with the main character, and the struggle she was going through. I really liked all the characters in the book (okay, the best friend was a bit bitchy at times, but we all get that way). I also enjoyed he writing in this book, and was able to picture so much of the action in my head. Plus it has inspired me a bit to get off my lazy butt and work on projects, as funny as that may sound.

I think the ending also was true to life, which always makes a book superior to me.
